“Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away….” (Hosea 13:3)
I don’t know about you, but I’m glad that Spring is finally here. I am not a huge fan of cold weather and I always look forward to the warmer weather each year. I remember this past winter, there was a time when it seemingly rained for a week straight. It was foggy, misty, wet, and just down-right yucky. As gloomy as the weather was, I knew that it was only a matter of time until the fog would be “burned off” by the sun.
Sometimes in life, we experience a “fog” of confusion, depression, worry, sadness, or anxiety that may seem suffocating and never-ending. Our “Spiritual fog” can hinder our ability to see hope in the future, experience much-needed healing, or find peace of mind.
On that dreary day this past winter, the Sun dissipating the fog reminded me that the Son is the solution we need for removing the spiritual fog in our lives. In the midst of the fog, it’s difficult to clearly see the sun, but we always know and have faith that our planet’s brightest star is still on the job, faithfully shining. Likewise, when we’re unable to see the Son working in the midst of our depression or worry, we can be assured that He is still there. We may not see the sun (or the Son) until enough of the fog is removed, but our faith tells us they are that God’s love and support is always there.
