I don’t know about you, but its so hard sometimes to NOT worry about what may be coming down the pipeline. Let’s face it and be honest with each other: we all worry. It may be about our health. It may be about our families. It may be about our finances or job situations. Whatever the circumstances, we all worry in this journey we call life.
I do believe we should plan and make prudent God-directed decisions to protect our future and I do believe there’s a difference between taking common-sense steps to prevent disaster versus worrying about events that may or may not even materialize.
It’s so very easy to take any circumstance and jump to the worst possible conclusion or outcome. Instead of catching a cold, I’ve suddenly developed cancer. Instead of having a bad day at work, I’m about to lose my job. Instead of missing a due date on a bill, I’m heading for bankruptcy. I’ve sometimes worried myself so much that I’ve put myself in this tiny little box and begin believing things that are not even true or would never happen. Don’t laugh, you’ve done it too.
I never want to lose sight of the fact that all I need is our God of the NOW. I should thank HIM for today and my blessings of Today. God already knows the future and what’s in store for me and I should let Him take control of tomorrow. I need to focus on TODAY and focus on the NOW.
