My mission at Courage For Today has always been three-fold: (1) To make Christianity simple to understand; (2) To show how Christianity is practical for today’s world; and (3) To always be non-judgmental in whatever I present. Those of us who claim to be Christians need to recognize the fact that we have not always done the best job in living an authentic Christian life. Our messages are often confusing, sometimes hypocritical, and even condescending to those who need God’s love the most. If you’ve experienced this from today’s Church or even from other Christians (as I have), then you’ve come to the right place.
Simply put, I want to change the negative perception so many have of Christians. As a Christian for over 40 years, I can tell you that living a Christian life is not easy. Deep down inside, we all want to be strong in our faith or at least try to better understand faith. Living a Godly life becomes very difficult with all that the World throws in our paths. As you travel along this journey called Life, I know you are faced with many questions and seemingly few answers. Where do you find the right answers? How do you know what is really correct? How do you know what to believe or who to believe? There are rarely any easy answers. However, it is my belief that God has the answers to our questions.
Through it all, God has always been there for me and guided me through all that life threw at me. So many Christians today don’t get what they need from their local church. Many want to live a Christian life, but simply haven’t had good examples or know what real Christianity looks like. Hopefully, some of these memories and stories I have re-lived in this Blog will encourage you to strengthen your own personal relationship with Christ, Family, and Friends and to perhaps learn, as I have learned over the years, that only with Christ will you have life-long peace.
No matter where you see yourself as a Christian—from “old time saint” to “not sure if I even believe”—we pray that Courage For Today can help you in your search for a meaningful relationship with Christ.
Please come back to visit us often and encourage your friends to visit as well.
